Materials Science of Actinides
To understand and control, at the nanoscale, materials that contain actinides (radioactive heavy elements such as uranium and plutonium) to lay the scientific foundation for advanced nuclear energy systems.
September 24, 2011 SAB Meeting and Short Course (Sept 25-26)

The All-Hands Meeting was held September 24, 2011. The Science Advisory Board joined us to diiscuss research directions and achievements of the Materials Science of Actinides, EFRC.

82 people were in attendance of the All-Hands Meeting with the Science Advisory Board. 29 posters were also given by graduate students and post-doctorals students.

September 25 and 26, 2011

Following the SAB Meeting was the second annual short course on Thermodynamics and Structure of Actinide Materials: Theory and Experiment. 75 graduate students, post-docs, and senior investigators were in attendance.
