The Nyman Research group is developing complex actinide niobate and tantalate materials by a variety of synthetic procedures. Tantalates and niobate materials are incredibly refractory and inert, a useful property for all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle. We are investigating nanoparticles, complex oxides, and cluster-based materials.
