Fein's research group is using solubility measurements to determine the thermodynamic stabilities of a range of actinide-bearing mineral phases. They are also investigating the highly non-ideal effects of Np incorporation into uranyl phases on the thermodynamic stabilities of those phases, and determining how the Np incorporation might affect and control the mobility of Np and U in geologic systems.
